Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check for A Switch

  1. CHECK FUSES 

    Check the fuses below.

    FUSE CHECK

    Unit Power source Fuse No.
    AV switch Battery power 19
    Ignition switch ACC or ON 4

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG: If fuse is blown be sure to eliminate case of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION or GROUND DISTRIBUTION .
  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect A switch connector.
    2. Check voltage between A switch and ground.
    CHECK VOLTAGE

    Terminals Ignition switch position
    (+) (-) OFF ACC ON
    Connector Terminal (Wire color)
    M98 1 (Y/R) Ground Battery voltage Battery voltage Battery voltage
    2(V) Ground 0V Battery voltage Battery voltage

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 3.
    2. NG: Check harness for open or short between A switch and fuse.

  3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Check continuity between A switch harness connector M98 terminal 5 (B) and ground.
    1. Continuity should exist. 

    OK or NG

    1. OK: INSPECTION END.
    2. NG: Repair ground harness.
