TCM Self-Diagnostic Procedure (No Tools)

  1. CHECK O/D OFF INDICATOR LAMP 
    1. Move selector lever to P position.

      Start engine and warm it up to normal engine operating temperature.

    2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
    3. Wait 5 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch to ON position. (Do not start engine.)

    5. Does O/D OFF indicator lamp come on for about 2 seconds?

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: GO TO 2.
    2. No: Stop procedure. Perform "O/D OFF INDICATOR LAMP DOES NOT COME ON " before proceeding.

  2. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 1  .
    1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
    2. Push and hold shift lock release button.
    3. Move selector lever to D position.
    4. Push and hold overdrive control switch to ON position.
    5. Turn ignition switch to ON position. (Do not start engine.)

      Wait more than 2seconds after turning ignition switch to ON.

      1. : GO TO 3.

  3. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 2 
    1. Move selector lever to L position.
    2. Release overdrive control switch to OFF position.

      (O/D OFF indicator lamp: ON)

      1. : GO TO 4.

  4. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 3 
    1. Move selector lever to D position.
    2. Push and hold overdrive control switch to ON position.

      (O/D OFF indicator lamp: OFF)

      1. : GO TO 5.

  5. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 4 
    1. Depress accelerator pedal fully and release it.
      1. GO TO 6.

  6. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC CODE 

    Check O/D OFF indicator lamp.

    Refer to "JUDGEMENT OF SELF-DIAGNOSIS CODE ".
