Air Bag Warning Light Stays On
- If air bag module(s) have been deployed, replace appropriate air bag system components. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION . If air bag module(s) have not deployed, check for faulty AIR BAG fuse, located in fuse block in lower left corner of instrument panel. See Figure . If AIR BAG fuse is okay, go to next step. If AIR BAG fuse is faulty, replace fuse. If AIR BAG fuse blows again, repair main wiring harness and/or replace air bag system harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START on CONSULT tester. If AIR BAG is displayed on CONSULT tester screen, go to next step. If AIR BAG is not displayed on CONSULT tester, visually check wire harness connector at diagnosis sensor. If connector is okay, replace diagnosis sensor unit. See DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check for poor wiring harness connections between AIR BAG warning light and diagnosis sensor unit. If wiring harness connections are okay, replace diagnosis sensor unit. See DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If wiring harness connections are not okay, reconnect properly if loose. If AIR BAG light still stays on, replace wire harness.
