Draining Engine Coolant

Open the radiator drain plug at the bottom of radiator, and remove the radiator cap.

• Do not allow the coolant to contact the drive belts.

When draining all of the coolant in the system, also perform the following two steps:

1. Open drain plug on cylinder block.

2. Check drained coolant for contaminants such as rust, corrosion or discoloration.

   If contaminated, flush engine cooling system. Refer to FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM.
