Rear Brake Pads: Removal

  1. Raise and support rear of vehicle. Release parking brake. Remove rear wheel assembly. Remove brake cable mounting bolt and lock spring. Remove parking brake cable. See Figure.
  2. Remove caliper upper pin bolt and rotate caliper downward. Remove pad retainers, pads and pad shims. Note locations and condition of pads for proper installation (if reusable). Minimum pad thickness is 0.08 in. (2.0 mm).
