Frontier, Quest & Xterra
- Raise and support rear of vehicle. Release parking brake. Loosen parking brake cable adjuster under vehicle. With engine running, depress brake pedal several times until clicking sound from rear brakes is no longer present. Adjust rear brakes.
- Apply parking brake 4-7 notches and retighten parking brake cable. Apply parking brake using 44 lbs. (20 kg) of force, counting the number of notches. Adjust parking brake stroke to required setting by tightening or loosening parking brake cable. See PARKING BRAKE LEVER STROKE SPECIFICATIONS table. Release parking brake and ensure rear wheels rotate freely. Adjust warning lamp switch if necessary. Readjust rear brakes.
