Pressure Adjustment (Quest)

  1. Check length "L" in unladen condition. (With fuel tank, radiator and engine oil full, and spare tire, jack and hand tools in designated positions.) See Fig 1. To stabilize suspension deflection, have one person sit on rear of vehicle and then get off vehicle slowly.
  2. Measure length "L" and adjust DLSV spring length by moving adjustment bracket while pushing opposite bracket up or down. See Fig 1. Adjust spring length to 6.3" (160 mm). Attach one pressure gauge to a front brake bleeder and another pressure gauge to a rear brake bleeder. Bleed air from pressure gauges.
  3. With one person aboard, depress brake pedal until front brake fluid pressure reaches 853 psi (60 kg/cm2 ) brake pedal in same position, rear brake fluid pressure should be between 478-825 psi (34-58 kg/cm2 ) . See DLSV PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Depress brake pedal again, until front brake fluid pressure reaches 1706 psi (120 kg/cm2 ) . Holding brake pedal in same position, rear brake fluid pressure should be between 813-1064 psi (57-75 kg/cm2 ) . See DLSV PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  5. If pressure readings are not as specified, adjust spring bracket. See Fig 1. Repeat test. If pressure readings are still not as specified, replace DLSV and repeat test.
