All brake systems are operated hydraulically using a tandem master cylinder and vacuum power unit. All models have front disc brakes. Rear brakes are either drum or disc. Pathfinder and QX4 uses rear disc brake with internal parking brake in rotor. Pathfinder, QX4, Quest and 1997 Pickup use a Load-Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) to regulate rear brake pressure.
