Pressure Adjustment (Pathfinder/QX4 4WD & 1997 Pickup 2WD)
- Ensure vehicle is in unladen condition. Have one person sit in driver's seat. To stabilize suspension deflection, have one person sit in rear of vehicle and then exit vehicle slowly.
- Attach a lever to LSPV stopper bolt. See Fig 1. On Pathfinder, QX4 and 1997 Pickup, adjust spring length as follows:
- On Pathfinder and QX4, adjust spring length to about 7.64" (194 mm).
- On 1997 Pickup, adjust spring length to about 7.40" (189 mm).
On all models, attach one pressure gauge to front brake bleeder and another pressure gauge to rear brake bleeder.
- Bleed air from front and rear bleeders. Depress brake pedal until front brake pressure reading is achieved. Check rear brake pressure. See LSPV PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table.
- On Pathfinder, QX4 and 1997 Pickup, slowly set a 221-lb. (100 kg) weight on rear of vehicle on axle center. Depress brake pedal until front brake pressure reading is 1422 psi (100 kg/cm2
). Ensure rear brake pressure reading is as specified. See LSPV PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table. On all models, if pressure readings are not as specified, adjust spring bracket. See Fig 1. Repeat test. If pressure readings are still not as specified, replace LSPV and repeat test.
