Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENT INSPECTION
Camshaft Position Sensor
1. Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.




2. Check voltage between terminals (3), (4) and ground.




Terminal (3) and engine ground




Terminal (4) and engine ground
If NG, replace distributor assembly with camshaft position sensor.
After this inspection, diagnostic trouble code No. P0340 might be displayed with camshaft position sensor functioning properly. Erase the stored memory.
