Valve Spring: Testing and Inspection

SQUARENESS
1. Dimension "S" is squareness (out-of-square). Measure dimension "S":
- The spring must be less than 1.80 mm (0.0709 inch) out-of-square.
2. If it exceeds the limit, replace the spring.





PRESSURE
Check valve spring free height and check the pressure at the specified height.
- Free height is 41.19 mm (1.6217 inch).
The standard:
- With a pressure of 344.42 N (77.44 lbs.) the height should be 25.26 mm (0.9945 inch).
The limit:
- The spring should be more than 330.41 N (74.31 lbs.) at a height of 23.64 mm (0.9307 inch).
If it exceeds the limit, replace the spring.
