Parking Brake: Quest

  1. Raise and support rear of vehicle. Adjust clearance shoe and drum, depress service brake pedal several times until clicking sound from rear brake is not present.
  2. Loosen lock nut and rotate adjusting nut on equalizer link. Tighten lock nut and adjusting nut to 69-87 INCH-lbs (7.8-9.8 N.m). Depress parking brake pedal using force of 44 lbs. (20 kg). Check pedal stroke and ensure smooth operation. See PARKING BRAKE LEVER STROKE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Ensure that there is no drag when brake pedal is released.
