SERVICE INFORMATION
Follow the procedures outlined in this bulletin if a 1995-96 Sentra/2OOSX experiences a MIL "ON" and DTC P0505 (IACV-AAC valve) stored in the electronic control module (ECM). Due to a reverse in polarity of the IACV-AAC valve power source, normal operation of the IACV-MC valve may be affected causing the MIL to activate. A countermeasure (CIM) diode sub-harness is available to prevent this change in polarity.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Verify operation of the IACV-AAC valve by following the diagnostic procedure in the EC section of the appropriate service manual.
2. If the IACV-AAC valve is operating correctly, perform the following:
A. Replace the IACV-MC valve using P/N 16188-1M210. Valve replacement is necessary due to possible carbon build up or scoring which could cause a future intermiffent condition.
B. Locate connectors M46 and F13 at the behind the center console (toward the bulkhead) near the passenger side footwell as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the center console.
C. Separate connectors M46 and F13 and install CIM diode sub-harness, P/N 24168-4B000, between the two connectors.
D. Secure the C/M diode sub-harness to the adjacent wiring harness using the tie wrap attached to the CIM diode sub-harness. Remove any excess tie wrap to prevent rattling.
E. Verify correct IACV-AAC valve and AC operation as described in the appropriate service manual.
