Tail Lamp Harness Replacement

1. Remove the two 10 mm hex head screws that secure the tail lamp assembly to the vehicle (see Figure 2).

2. Carefully remove the tail lamp assembly and disconnect the vehicle wire harness connector from the tail lamp assembly (see Figure 3).

3. Remove the old wire harness from the tail lamp assembly as follows:

A. Cut the old wire harness in two places where it passes through the plastic retainers (see Figure 4). Cutting the harness will allow it to be easily removed without breaking the plastic retainers.

B. Remove the bulb sockets from the tail lamp assembly by turning them counterclockwise (see Figure 4).

C. Remove the harness connector from the metal bracket (see Figure 4).

4. Remove the light bulbs from the old harness sockets and inspect them for damage or broken elements. Replace the bulbs as needed.

5. Install the bulbs in the new harness sockets. Ensure the bulbs are fully seated and locked in place.

6. Install the new harness sockets in position, twisting clockwise to lock them in place.

NOTE:
Install the black socket in the top hole of the tail lamp assembly.

7. Insert the harness in the plastic retainers (two places).

8. Install the harness connector on the metal bracket.

9. Re-connect the vehicle harness to the tail lamp harness connector.

10. Re-install the tail lamp assembly on the vehicle. Torque the tail lamp mounting screws to 2.9 - 3.9 N.m (0.3 - 0.4 Kg-m, 26 - 35 in-lb).
