Owners Letter
Dear Nissan Truck Owner:This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Reason for Recall
Nissan has determined that some 1995 Nissan Trucks may have been assembled without a door lock plate in the right side door. If this piece is missing, there may be a reduction in the strength of the latch. This condition may affect the latching system in the event of a severe and unusual collision.
What You Should Do
Contact your Nissan Dealer as soon as possible to arrange to have your Nissan Truck corrected free of charge. The correction will involve inspection of the right door lock to see if the lock plate is present and, if not, installation of the lock plate. The service should take less than one hour.
Please bring this notice with you when you keep your service appointment. Instructions have been sent to your Nissan Dealer. If the Dealer fails, or is unable to make the necessary repairs at no charge to you, you may contact the National Consumer Affairs Office, Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. at P.O. Box 191, Gardena, California 90248-0191. The toll-free telephone number is 1-800-NISSAN1 [1-800-647-7261]. If you reside in Hawaii, please call (808) 836-0888.
You may also contact the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 Seventh Street S.W., Washington, D.C. 20590 or call the toll-free Safety Hotline at 1-800-424-9393. [Washington, D.C. area residents may call (202) 366-0123.]
