Acceleration Cut Control System (ACC)

Air Conditioner Cut-Out Control:

PURPOSE
The Acceleration Cut Control (ACC) system is used to improve engine operation by disengaging the Air Conditioner (A/C) compressor when the throttle valve is at wide open throttle (WOT) or if engine coolant temperature is too high.

OPERATION
When the Engine Control Module (ECM) senses that the throttle valve is at WOT, via the throttle sensor, or engine temperature is extremely high it opens the ground circuit to the A/C relay. This cuts voltage to the A/C clutch.
