SERVICE INFORMATION
If a vehicle exhibits a clutch noise that lasts 30-60 seconds when it is cold (usually after sitting overnight), replace the pilot bushing using P/N 32202-B9500. There are two types of pilot bushings available:
P/N 32202-B9500: looks like brass filings pressed together, sintered metal part
P/N 32202-30000 (DO NOT USE): brass color, shiny, machine cut part
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the clutch disc and clutch cover from the flywheel.
3. Use puller J23907 (available from Kent-Moore) and carefully remove the pilot bushing from the back of the crankshaft as shown in Figure 1. (The flywheel does not need to be removed).
4. Use clutch alignment bar J26366 (available from Kent-Moore) and carefully install the new pilot bushing into the back of the crankshaft. Install the pilot bushing completely dry; do not lube.
5. Apply recommended grease to the contact surface of the spline portion of the clutch disc.
CAUTION:
Too much lubricant may cause clutch disc facing damage.
6. Install the clutch assembly and the transmission.
