Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air intake duct.
3. Disconnect starter wiring from starter.
4. Remove starter retaining bolts, then the starter as follows:
a. With automatic transaxle, remove starter from engine side.
b. With manual transaxle, remove starter from transaxle side.

5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque starter motor mounting bolts to 23-31 ft. lbs.
