Transfer Case

Removal

1. Drain oil from transfer and transmission.
2. Remove front and rear propeller shaft.
3. Insert plug into rear oil seal after removing propeller shaft.

Caution: Be careful not to damage spline, sleeve yoke and rear oil seal,when removing propeller shaft.






4. Remove torsion bar spring. Then remove second crossmember.






5. Remove transfer control lever from transfer outer shift lever.
6. Remove transfer from transmission.

Warning: Support transfer while removing it.


Installation

1. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:






Apply recommended sealant to mating surface to transmission. (M/T only)
Recommended sealant: Nissan genuine part (KP61O-00250) or equivalent










2. Tighten bolts securing transfer.
