Leaf Spring

Fig. 7 Leaf Spring Rear Suspension:

1. Raise and support rear of vehicle at chassis. Support rear axle to relieve tension from spring.
2. Disconnect shock absorber at lower mounting and remove U-bolts and spring plates.
3. On 4WD Pickup models, remove one or two parking brake rear cable clamps on side of leaf springs.
4. On all except 4WD Pickup models, raise jack under differential. On 4WD Pickup models, lower jack.
5. Disconnect spring from rear shackle, Fig. 7.
6. Disconnect spring from front body attachment.
7. Remove spring from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
