Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Fuel Tank Assembly:

REMOVAL
1. Drain the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connectors.
3. Remove the fuel tank securing bolts and lower the tank slightly.
4. Remove the fuel hoses (5) and lower the tank.
5. Remove the six screws securing the fuel pump into the fuel tank.
6. Pull the fuel pump/gauge sending unit out of the tank.

INSTALLATION
1. Replace the O-ring and install the pump.
2. Torque the screws to 1.4 - 1.8 ft.lbs. (2.0 - 2.5 N-m).
3. Raise the fuel tank and install the fuel hoses.
4. Secure the fuel tank and torque the bolts to 20 - 26 ft.lbs. (27 - 35 N-m).
5. Connect the electrical connectors.
