^ Make sure that the following items are within specifications after assembling.





DETENTION SWITCH
^ Check dimension "A" between adapter plate and actuator for detention switch when moving control lever from P to R.
Dimension "A": 2.3 mm (0.091 in.) or more





^ Check clearance "B" between adapter plate and actuator for detention switch while moving control lever from R to P with position guide touched with position plate.
Clearance "B": 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) or more





SHIFT LOCK LEVER
^ Check dimension "C" between selector rod stopper and shift lock lever in P range.
Dimension "C": 2.3 mm (0.091 in.) or more





^ Check dimension "D" between selector rod stopper and shift lock lever in P range when selector rod is turned.
Dimension "D": 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) or more





SHIFT LOCK QUALITY
^ Make sure that selector rod stopper is not undone from shift lock lever while repeatedly pulling the control lever ten times in P range using a force of 49 N (5 kg, 11 lb.).


^ Install steering column and shift control components assembly on the vehicle exactly.
^ When ignition switch is turned to ON and brake pedal is depressed. Make sure that control lever can be shifted from P to R smoothly without selector rod stopper hooked at shift lock lever.
