SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 1988 and later Trucks do not have a right door switch to actuate the interior lights. Therefore, when installing the V.S.S. on these vehicles, use the following instructions to complete the installation.

VEHICLES WITH DOOR SWITCH HARNESS

Some trucks have no right door switch factory installed but may be equipped with the harness branch and connector. Install door switch (P/N 25360-41L00), and cover (P/N 25368-41L00), to complete the V.S.S. installation.

VEHICLES WIETHOUT DOOR SWITCH HARNESS

Some trucks have no right door switch or harness branch. Use the V.S.S. trunk pinswitch (i.e. the extra pinswitch which is included for mounting in the trunk on sedan installations), and the black V.S.S. trunk switch wire. Complete the installation as follows:

1. Remove the right "B" pillar finisher.





2. Mark and drill an 11/32" hole 1-1/4" below existing cover (see illustration). Apply Nissan rust preventative to the exposed metal.


3. Install the pinswitch. Route the black VSS trunk switch wire under the carpet and plug into the rear of the switch.

4. Cut the black VSS trunk wire near the VSS connector. Attach this black wire to the gray VSS wire with a red Scotchlok so the left and right door switches are wired together. Fold back and tape up the remaining end of the black wire so the exposed wire does not contact any metal.

NOTE: In addition to completing the V.S.S. installation, the right door will now operate the dome light.
