APPLIED MODEL: 1990 Truck/Pathfinder (D21) with KA24 engine

SERVICE INFORMATION

Use Air Bypass Screw:

When adjusting the base idle speed of 1990 D21 trucks (KA24E engine), turn the idle speed adjusting screw (in the idle air adjusting unit, IAA) on the throttle body as shown below.

Do Not Use This Screw:

Do not use the throttle valve adjusting screw (throttle stop screw) to set the base idle. This is preset at the factory and adjustment is not necessary.
The attached Service Manual pages include a corrected idle adjustment procedure and correct AAC valve illustrations. Also note the ignition-timing correction and deletion of the air regulator (not applicable to the D21 KA24E engine).
