Disassembly (240SX & 300ZX)

  1. With caliper removed, remove outer spring retainer and pin bolts. Separate caliper body from caliper mount. Using long nose pliers, remove piston from bore by rotating it counterclockwise.
  2. Disassemble piston by prying off retainer ring. Remove wave washer, spacers, ball bearing and adjuster nut. Remove cup from adjuster nut. To disassemble caliper body, remove snap ring. Remove spring cover, spring and seat. See Figure and Figure .
  3. Take out next snap ring and remove key plate, push rod and rod. Remove "O" ring from push rod and piston seal from caliper body. To disassemble parking brake lever, remove return spring, adjusting nut, spring washer and lever. Remove adjusting cam and cam boot. Remove pins and pin boots.
