Speed Sensor Signal Check: 300ZX

Remove speed sensor from transmission. Turn speedometer pinion quickly and measure voltage across terminal No. 1 and No. 2. See Figure. Voltage should be about .5 volts (AC). If reading is incorrect, replace speed sensor.

CAUTION: Ensure that pinion shaft is properly seated when installing speed sensor. Speed sensor thrusting key should fit into groove of pinion shaft.
