This bulletin amends EL-33 in the 1987 Recap Book. Pages 5/6 and 6/6 includes revised and additional information for 1988 Truck/Pathfinder & Van models. Please refer to this bulletin for correct Radio Identification for 1988 Model Year.

INTRODUCTION

This bulletin contains radio identification information for all 1988 Nissan models. Use this bulletin to identify the component manufacturer and model number when ordering an exchange unit under the Direct Dealer/Manufacturer Radio Warranty Exchange Program.

IDENTIFICATION PROCEDURES

The 1988 Nissan audio components are supplied by three (3) radio manufacturers. When ordering an exchange unit, it is important to properly identify the manufacturer and model number of the incident unit. This will ensure that the exchange unit shipped from the radio manufacturer will be the same brand and model as the incident unit.

Most audio components are marked with a code number that is visible without removing the unit from the vehicle. Locate the code number on the identification chart to identify the manufacturer and model number of the incident unit.

NOTE:
The first digit of the code number identifies the manufacturer as shown below.

C = Clarion
H = Hitachi
P = Panasonic

ALL RADIO CORES SHOULD BE RETURNED TO THE MANUFACTURER IMMEDIATELY AFTER REMOVAL FROM CUSTOMERS VEHICLES.
