Power Brake Assist: Service and Repair

Brake Booster, Pedal And Bracket:

Brake Booster And Master Cylinder:

REMOVAL
1. Remove master cylinder.
2. Disconnect brake booster at brake pedal.
3. Disconnect check valve hose at power booster.
4. Disconnect vacuum hose(s), if equipped.
5. Remove booster attaching bolts and/or nuts and the booster.

INSTALLATION
Adjust brake booster output rod length to specifications. Reverse REMOVAL procedures to install.

Output Rod Length Check:

1. Supply brake booster with vacuum of -66.7 kPa (-500 mmHg, -19.69 in Hg) using a handy vacuum pump.

2. Check output rod length.

Specified length: 10.275 - 10.525 mm (0.4045 0.4144 in)
