BRAKE DRUM REMOVAL
1. Release parking brake lever fully, then remove drum.

Brake Shoe Adjuster:








NOTE: If drum is hard to remove, the following procedures should be carried out.

^ Remove plug. Then shorten adjuster to make clearance between brake shoe and drum.
^ Install two bolts as shown. Tighten the two bolts gradually.

BRAKE DRUM REPAIR
^ Using a brake lathe, machine brake drum if it shows score marks, partial wear or stepped wear.
^ Contact surfaces should be fine finished with No. 120 to 150 emery paper.
^ Using a drum micrometer, measure inside diameter to make sure drum is still within serviceable limits. For drum service specifications, refer to Specifications. Specifications
^ After brake drum has been completely reconditioned or replaced, check drum and shoes for proper contact pattern.

Warning: Clean brake lining and inside of drum with a vacuum dust collector to minimize the hazard of airborne materials.
