Valve Seat Inserts Service

Check valve seats for pitting at valve contact surface. Replace as necessary. To replace valve seat insert, heat cylinder head to 302-320°F (150-160°C). Remove old valve seat insert from recess in head. Apply metal adhesive to back of new insert and press into recess of cylinder head. Valve seat inserts of .020" (.050 mm) are available for service.
