Piston & Rod Assembly Service: Installation

- Wash cylinder walls with hot soapy water and dry with compressed air. Apply oil to rings, piston and cylinder bore. Ensure ring gaps are spaced properly. See Fig 1.
- Install piston in cylinder with mark on piston top facing forward and oil supply hole of connecting rod toward right side of block. See Fig 2. With piston installed, ensure rod and bearings are seated firmly against crankshaft journal.
