Crankshaft Service: Removal

- Drain coolant and remove water pump. Drain oil and remove engine. Mount engine on engine stand. Remove timing belt covers and timing belt. Remove intake manifold. Remove cylinder heads.
- Remove oil pan and oil pump. Remove flywheel or drive plate. Remove rear plate and cover. Remove pistons. Remove main bearing caps in proper sequence. See Fig 1. Remove crankshaft.
