200SX & 300ZX

  1. Remove harness connector from oil pressure sending unit. On 200SX models, oil pressure sending unit is located below alternator. On 300ZX models, oil pressure sending unit is located next to oil filter. Connect an ohmmeter between harness terminals and body ground. See Fig 1 .
  2. On 200SX models, measure resistance of pressure sending unit. With engine off, reading should be 73 ohms. With engine idling, reading should be less than 50 ohms. If any reading is not okay, replace sending unit.
  3. On 300ZX models, with ohmmeter connected to terminal No. 1 and engine off, reading should be zero ohms. With engine idling, there should be no continuity.
  4. With ohmmeter connected to terminal No. 2 and engine off, reading should be more than 74 ohms. With engine idling, reading should be less than 60 ohms. If any reading is not okay, replace sensor.
