SERVICE INFORMATION

The Torsion Bar Adjusting Gauge Set, P/N GP406WD, for use on D21 Trucks, includes left and right side gauges for 2WD and 4WD vehicles. Each gauge is specifically calibrated by the manufacturer, and the calibration plate (Figure 1) should not be moved.

FIGURE 2:

It is recommended that a mark be scribed on the back of each gauge for resetting the plate if it has been accidently moved out of specification (Figure 2). Page FA-3 contains a Service Procedure to reset the calibration plate, if necessary.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

To reset an unscribed calibration plate, use the following specification (Figure 3).
^ 2WD Right and left side gauge: Dimension "A" = 32.5 mm
^ 4WD Right side gauge: Dimension "A" = 16 mm
^ 4WD Left side gauge: Dimension "A" = 14.6 mm
Note: For complete accuracy, a vernier caliper should be used when measuring the above dimensions.
