IDLE CO% SPECIFICATION AND PROCEDURE CORRECTION, 1986.6 D21 TRUCK SERVICE MANUAL


Pages EF&EC-35, -123, -151 and -237 of the November, 1985 (01) printing of the 1986 D21 contain incorrect idle CO% specifications for Z24i and VG30i engines. In addition, the mixture ratio feedback system inspection procedure has been modified.

The correct and incorrect idle CO% specifications are shown below, along with their corresponding page locations. Please change these pages of your copies of the subject service manual by hand to match the correct specifications.

CAUTION: Remember that the engine must be stopped before connecting the resistor 2.5K ohms to the cylinder head temperature sensor.


The mixture ratio inspection procedures on pages EF&EC-97 thru -103 (VG30i) and EF&EC-211 thru -217 (Z24i) should be crossed out and the following note added to pages EF&EC-97 and EF&EC-211:

"Refer to Technical Bulletin EC86-008 (TS86-099) for the correct inspection procedures".

The correct inspection procedures for the VG30i and Z24i engines are contained on the following pages of this bulletin.
