APPLIED MODEL: 1986.5 Truck (D21) with automatic transmission

SERVICE INFORMATION

The idle switch check procedure in the 1986.5 Truck (D21) Service Manual shows an incomplete idle speed specification for the VG30i and Z24i engine models. When checking the idle switch OFF TO ON speed on an automatic transmission model, the shift lever should be in the "N" position as shown below.

IDLE SWITCH OFF TO ON SPEED

VG30i Z24i

Idle speed + 250 +/- 150 rpm 1,100 + 300 rpm
(A/T in "N" position) - 100
(A/T in "N" position)


Amended versions of Pages EF&EC-35, -70, -151, and -184, containing the subject information, were attached to this bulletin at the time of distribution. This amended information was incorporated in the next printing of the 1986.5 Truck Service Manual.
