AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR MODIFICATIONS
APPLIED MODEL: 1986.5-1987 Truck and 1987 Pathfinder
SERVICE INFORMATION
The air conditioner compressor assembly of the Applied model vehicles has been modified with a new clutch assembly. Use the following interchangeability information when servicing the compressor assembly or compressor clutch assembly of the Applied Models.
INTERCHANGEABILITY INFORMATION
When replacing the clutch assembly, it is important to identify if the compressor assembly is the former or new style so that the proper part is installed. Use the following information to identify the compressor assembly or clutch assembly.
FORMER AND NEW COMPRESSOR IDENTIFICATION
To determine if the compressor is the former style or the new style, locate the label on the side of the compressor and compare the Nissan part number with the information on page 1/3 of this bulletin. Order the appropriate clutch assembly for the incident compressor.
If there is no label on the compressor, measure the thickness of the compressor mounting ears as shown below.

FORMER AND NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY IDENTIFICATION
Measure the inside diameter of the field coil where the coil fits over the compressor shaft (not the inside diameter of the coil itself) as shown below.
