SIDE MARKER LAMP WIND NOISE
APPLIED MODEL: 1986.5 - 1987 D21 Truck (U.S. Built Trucks ONLY)
SERVICE INFORMATION
Some 1986.5 - 1987 U.S. built D21 Trucks may exhibit a wind noise (whistle) at 40-60 MPH. This noise originates at the front side marker lamp, travels inside the fender, up the A-pillar and is heard inside the cab. Use the following Service Procedure to seal the gap at the side marker lamp.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
FRONT CLEARANCE LIGHT:
1. Apply clear RTV silicone into the gap between the lens and housing of both front side marker lamps as shown below.
2. Gently wipe off excess silicone with a wet paper towel.
