APPLIED MODEL: 1986.5 Truck (D21) King Cab with jump seats

SERVICE INFORMATION

The jump seats of some 1986.5 King Cab Trucks (D21) may exhibit a rattling noise (similar to a door ajar rattle) when driving over rough road surfaces. In addition, the jump seat may be observed moving away from the side finisher. Use the following Service Procedures to replace the spring which keeps the jump seat closed.

Plastic Cover:

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the plastic cover at the base of the seat.

Jump Seat:

2. With the jump seat in the "close" or "up" position, remove the spring.

3. Install the new spring (P/N 88010-01G00) making certain that the coil is lower than the anchor points as shown in the CORRECT illustration below.
