Thermal Transmitter Check

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1985 Nissan Maxima and 1985 Nissan 200SX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect harness connector from transmitter. Measure resistance between switch and body ground. See Fig 1 . When water temperature is 140°F (60°C), resistance should be approximately 70-90 ohms. When water temperature is 176°F (80°C), resistance should be approximately 35-45 ohms. If any measurement is incorrect, replace thermal transmitter.
