Stop & Tail Lamp Sensor Check

  1. Before checking sensor, ensure (1157 ) bulbs are installed. To check sensor, leave harness connector installed and insert probes of voltmeter into both center terminals. Insert positive (+) lead into terminal with Yellow/Purple wire and negative (-) lead into terminal with Black wire.
  2. With brake switch actuated, stop lamps are in good oreder if reading is 12 volts. Wtih stop lamp removed, reading should be less than 1 volt. With light switch on, tail lamps are in good oreder if reading is 12 volts. With tail lamp removed reading should be less than 1 volt. Repair or replace as necessary.
