Engine Front Covers & Oil Seal: Removal

  1. Remove accessory drive belts. Drain engine oil. Remove oil pan, oil strainer, and gaskets. If necessary, remove water pump. Remove crank pulley, damper, and spacer.
  2. Remove timing belt tensioner and timing belt. Remove crankshaft sprocket and spacer. Remove oil pump mount bolts and oil pump assembly. Drive out front oil seal from oil pump, using a seal driver/installer.
