Clearance Check

  1. With camshaft removed, measure inside diameter of camshaft bearing surface of cylinder head with telescopic hole gauge and outside diameter of camshaft journal with micrometer. Camshaft bearing clearance limit is .004" (.10 mm).
  2. If camshaft journals or bearing surfaces of head are worn beyond clearance limit, replace camshaft and/or cylinder head. Install camshaft as previously outlined.
