Air Tight Test (No Load)

  1. Connect vacuum gauge, in line, between check valve and power brake unit. Start engine and increase engine speed. DO NOT  depress brake pedal. Stop engine when vacuum gauge indicates 19.69 in. Hg. Fifteen seconds after engine is stopped, observe rate of drop in air pressure registered on gauge.
  2. If pressure drops more than .98 in. Hg, repair or replace faulty component(s). Probable cause of air leakage can be in one or more of following components: Check valve, push rod seal, valve body and seal, valve plunger seat, damaged piping or joints.
