All service brake systems are hydraulically operated using a tandem master cylinder and vacuum power unit.

Sentra is equipped with optional diesel engines, incorporate a vacuum pump to provide vacuum to power brake booster. Vacuum switch lights brake warning light on dash when vacuum drops lower than specified value.

The brake systems are hydraulically-controlled, dual line type which operate independently on right front and left rear wheels and left front and right rear wheels.
