Inspection Procedure A-6: Power liftgate automatic operation does not work normally by the operation of power liftgate close switch (only the close of automatic operation): Diagnosis

STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list

Check the signals related to the power liftgate operation.

Power liftgate close switch: OFF → ON

Item No.	Item name	Normal conditions
Item 4	Close SW	OFF → ON

OK: Normal conditions are displayed for all the items.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE B-2 "POWER LIFTGATE CLOSE SWITCH SIGNAL IS NOT RECEIVED" .

STEP 2. Check of the troubles
Check whether the power liftgate works normally.

Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Replace the power liftgate control unit.
