INSPECTION PROCEDURE A-4: Selector "P" Position-Linked Door Unlock Function Does Not Operate: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Checking central door unlocking operation. 

    Check that the central door locking system works normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  2. STEP 2. Check the customization function. 

    Check that "Always (P pos)" is set for "Auto door unlock by P position" with the customization function.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 3.
    • NO:  Set "Always (P pos)" for "Auto door unlock by P position" with the customization function (Refer to CUSTOMIZATION FUNCTION  ).
  3. STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), diagnose the CAN bus lines. 

    Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

    Q: Is the CAN bus normal? 

  4. STEP 4. Check the scan tool (M.U.T.-III) Diagnostic trouble code of other systems. 

    Check that CVT stores a diagnostic trouble code.

    Q: Is the diagnostic trouble code stored? 

  5. STEP 5. Retest the system. 

    Check that shifting the selector lever to the P position unlocks the doors.

    Q: Is the check result normal?
