Inspection Procedure 6: The intermittent wiper interval is not changed according to the vehicle speed: Diagnosis

- STEP 1. Check the operation of windshield intermittent wiper volume control.
Check that the windshield intermittent wiper interval can be adjusted by operating the windshield intermittent wiper volume control.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- STEP 2. Check the ETACS customization function.
Use the ETACS customization function to confirm that "front wiper operation" is set to "vehicle speed dependent".
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 3.
- NO: Use the ETACS customization function to set "front wiper operation" to "vehicle speed dependent" (Refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE ).
- STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check actuator test.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
- Conduct the actuator test of the combination meter.

- The speedometer operates up to the set position.

- Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Q: Is the check result normally?
- YES: Go to Step 4.
- NO: Perform the troubleshooting to the speedometer (Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE 5 "SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK ." Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE 5: THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK (THE OTHER METERS WORK) .)
- STEP 4. Retest the system.
Check that the intermittent wiper interval depends on the vehicle speed.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Replace the ETACS-ECU.
