DTC B1034, B1035: Ambient air temperature Sensor System: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list (ETACS-ECU). 

    Check that the following service data display contents are normal. (Refer to DATA LIST REFERENCE TABLE ).

    Item No.252: Ambient air temperature Sensor 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    2. NO:  Go to Step 2.
  2. STEP 2. Check of open circuit in AMB+ and AMB- line (ETACS-ECU) between ambient temperature sensor connector and ETACS-ECU connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 3.
    2. NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  3. STEP 3. Inspection of the ambient temperature sensor 

    Refer to AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR  .

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 4.
    2. NO:  Replace the ambient temperature sensor.
  4. STEP 4. Retest the system. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
    2. NO:  Replace the ETACS-ECU.
