Inspection Procedure 20: The FCM is cancelled in conjunction with a warning message while the FCM is activated: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics 

    Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 2.
    2. NO:  Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS TABLE ).
  2. STEP 2. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) DTC of other system 

    Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to check that the DTC is stored in the ACC/FCM-ECU.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC (Refer to CHECK CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES TABLE ).
    2. NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) DTC 

    Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to check the DTC for the ASC system (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ).

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Carry out the diagnosis for the DTC (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ).
    2. NO:  Go to Step 4.
  4. STEP 4. Retest the system. 

    Check that the FCM control operates normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).
    2. NO:  Replace the ACC/FCM-ECU (Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM (ACC) ).
